Flatbread or shao bing is known as a common snack food in Northern China, Flatbread or shao bing is a type of layered flatbread, typically topped with sesame seeds. It is made with multiple layers of dough brushed with sesame paste and resembles a flattened bread roll.

Dough Ingredients:
- Plain flour 300g
- Water 165 ml
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Ground beef 250g
- Soya sauce 1tbsp
- Vinegar 1tbsp
- Sesame oil 2tsp
- Five spices 1 tsp ( star anise, cloves, cinnamon, fennel seeds, Sichuan peppercorns) or (black peppercorns)
- Chicken powder 1tsp
- Salt to taste
- Chopped onion 3tbsp
- Coriander chopped 2tbsp
- Spring onion 2tbsp
- Ginger paste 1tsp
- Oil for frying the flatbread (shao bing )
- Sesame seeds as required
- Oil 1/3 cup
- Spring onion 2tbsp
- Flour 1tbsp
- Sichuan peppercorns powder 1/2tsp
- White pepper powder 1/2tsp
- In a bowl, mix the flour and salt and then add water.
- Now mix it and kneed it until smooth dough.
- Cover the dough and rest it for 30 mins.
- In a bowl, add ground beef and all filing ingredients
- Now mix them well.
- Then mix the all vegetables in the beef mixture.
- In a bowl add all glaze ingredients ( spring onion, flour, sichuan peppercorns powder,
- and white pepper powder).
- Now heat up the oil and pour into the glaze ingredients bowl and mix them well.
Flatbread or (shao bing) making:
- Roll the dough in long shape and then cut into pieces.
- Now brushing with some glaze on the all pieces.
- Now roll the one piece with rolling pin until the long thin piece.
- Now, first glaze brushing on the piece then add some beef mixture filling.
- Then fold the edges of it.
- Now, roll it and press it down.
- Now, coat with sesame seeds, on one side.
- Now, in the pan, add oil for frying.
- Now, add the flatbread (shao bing) in the oil and sesame side up and fry on low heat for 5 mins.
- Then flip them and fry for 3 mins until golden brown the both sides,
- Delicious recipe for breakfast is ready.
